What is Medicaid?

Medicaid is a government funded health insurance program for persons of all ages whose income and resources are insufficient to pay for health care. Medicaid insurance is available to all US citizens or legal permanent residents, and may include adults, their children, and individuals with disabilities. Medicaid is jointly funded by the state and federal government.

Ohio school districts provide services under the “Professional Medical Services” category, which are billable to Medicaid through the Ohio Medicaid School Program (MSP).
